Subscribe NowSwitzerland-based Autoneum Holding AG plans to open a manufacturing and distribution facility in Jeffersonville that will employ 220 workers by 2018, the Indiana Economic Development Corp. announced Wednesday morning.
The company, which makes vehicle acoustics and thermal management systems, said it will lease 300,000 square feet on a 23-acre site at the River Ridge Commerce Center. The plant, Autoneum's 13th in North America, should be operational by the end of the year.
The company, which has more than 9,500 employees around the world, said it has begun the process of hiring for engineering and managerial positions at the facility, with manufacturing hiring to begin near the end of the year.
The IEDC offered Autoneum North America up to $2 million in conditional tax credits and up to $200,000 in training grants based on the company's job-creation plans. The River Ridge Development Authority approved additional property- tax abatement.
Autoneum, headquartered in Winterthur, Switzerland, makes components, modules and complete systems for vehicle interiors and engine bays, and heatshields and underbody shields. It is a supplier for Ford Motor Co., Honda Motor Co., General Motors Co. and Toyota Motor Corp.
