Westfield’s 2016 budget is up for discussion Monday.

Todd Burtron, chief of staff for the city, introduced the plan for next year to the Westfield City Council earlier this month, but the discussion was kept brief.

The public hearing is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, and the council is expected to vote on it Oct. 12.

Burtron said the city's tax rate is expected to stay at 76.98 cents per $100 of assessed value, but it could be lower than that. For a $250,000 home, taxes would be an estimated $1,924.50.
