Deuberry most recently served as director of marketing and communications at the Indy Chamber.
GIPC is a public-private advisory group founded in 1965 that works closely with city officials and has an office in the City-County Building. It manages a number of initiatives in partnership with the city.
Deuberry will replace interim director John Ryan on Oct. 6.
Ryan is filling in for former director Matthew Hendrix, who was fired in March on suspicion of financial malfeasance.
Hendrix was later charged with 26 counts of forgery and one count of theft for allegedly misappropriating more than $96,000 of the organization’s money.
Deuberry worked on the marketing team for Develop Indy before joining the Indy Chamber. Before that, she was communications coordinator at InterDesign, an architectural firm in Indianapolis.
“Molly’s experience in the public, private, and non-profit sectors uniquely positions her for this role,” GIPC Chairman Murray Clark said in a prepared statement. “As we look ahead to GIPC’s 50th anniversary in 2015, we are excited by the fresh perspective she brings to the organization.”
