Tinderbox, a 19-month-old startup that allows companies to create and save sales proposals online, just raised $680,000, including some from a local tech-industry guru who will join the company’s 10-person team.

Scott Bleczinski, who once served as the first executive vice president at Indianapolis-based e-mail marketing firm Exact Target, will lead the firm’s sales efforts to bigger companies.

TinderBox, which was founded by a trio of local entrepreneurs in January 2010, has raised more than $830,000 and has secured more than 50 customers to subscribe to its Web-based application that boosts the technological sophistication of the proposal-sending process.

Dustin Sapp, the company’s president, said this year TinderBox has added larger companies to its customer base and has grown its revenue, bringing in as much in the first 75 days of this year as it did in all of 2010. He would not disclose a specific revenue figure.

Bleczinski, who most recently served as vice president of sales for Indianapolis-based Compendium Blogware, a blogging platform, will focus on continuing to grow that area of subscribers. The company also serves small businesses.

Other investors include nine individual angels and local early-stage venture firms Halo Capital Group and Gravity Ventures.

“We’re very bullish on the prospects” for the company, Sapp said. “We’re more bullish than we have been since we started it.”
