As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowGiant Eagle Inc. said it plans to hire more than 500 workers to work at the massive Market District grocery store it is building in Carmel.
The Pittsburgh-based food retailer said Tuesday that it will conduct a hiring event from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 6 to help it fill numerous full-and part-time positions for the store, which is expected to open this fall at 116th St. and Spring Mill Road.
The event is scheduled for the Sheraton Indianapolis Hotel at Keystone Crossing.
Giant Eagle has 13 existing Market District stores in Pennsylvania and Ohio, with most ranging from 95,000 to 105,000 square feet. The Carmel store, part of a development called The Bridges, will be its first in Indiana.
Giant Eagle is already hiring for the store at a recruiting center at 9445 N. Meridian St., in Indianapolis.
