Saran Industries announced Tuesday that it would spend $4.4 million to lease and renovate the 250,000-square-foot complex.
The old Pittsburgh Paint Group factory has been vacant since 2008, when it was closed by aluminum manufacturer Indalex, the Kokomo Tribune reported.
Saran Industries, founded in 1964, expects to hire up to 60 workers in Kokomo by the end of 2019. The company provides surface finishing of metal products for the automobile industry and has operations in Indianapolis and Shelbyville.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. has offered Saran up to $500,000 in conditional tax credits based on its hiring plans.
