The Youth Employment Services Initiative, known as YES, provides employment assistance to at-risk 17- to 25-year-olds throughout Marion County. Lilly Endowment has funded the program since October 2003.
YES has provided funding to more than 20 community-based organizations that have helped about 1,550 young men and women find jobs, according to IPIC.
“The YES program is vital to ensuring the youth of Marion County are ready to enter the work force,” IPIC CEO Brooke Huntington said in a written statement. "With the support of Lilly Endowment, IPIC and our partner organizations are able to prepare thousands of area youth to find quality, lasting career opportunities.”
