to Indiana’s more than 200 survivors.
The network, a coalition of more than 90 law firms and corporate legal departments, as well as 30 Jewish social-services agencies,
provides free services to Holocaust survivors seeking reparations. It was established in 2007 following the creation of a
German program that provides a one-time payment of $3,100 to survivors who worked while living in a German-controlled ghetto.
Baker & Daniels is Indiana’s coordinating law firm and helped develop a partnership between the Bet Tzedek program and the
Indianapolis Jewish Community Center and Jewish Federation of Greater Indianapolis. More than 40 lawyers at the firm are participating
in the project.
Bet Tzedek, which means "the house of justice" in Hebrew, is a Los Angeles-based law firm that provides free legal services
to low-income, disabled and elderly citizens.
