Raytheon Technical Services Co. LLC will make guided missile launchers for the U.S. Navy at its Indianapolis avionics development
center, the Department of Defense announced Monday.

Naval Air Systems Command placed an $18.9 million order for the launchers, which will be installed in F/A-18 Hornet fighter
jets. The work is expected to be complete in September 2012.

Raytheon employs more than 1,000 people at its East 21st Street facility. Last fall, it eliminated 77 jobs there after hiring
more than 100 engineers, scientists and other personal over the previous year.

Waltham, Mass.-based parent Raytheon Co. designs, builds and overhauls electronics used in the F-16 fighter and V22 Osprey
tilt-rotor aircraft.
