Two football fields. That’s the distance between the expanded Indiana Convention Center and additional convention space
in Lucas Oil Stadium.
It’s not the longest distance conventioneers might need to walk. Hoofing it from one end of the sprawling convention
center to the other takes longer. But the route between the convention center and stadium passes under a railroad overpass
and a street. Designers of a walkway that connects the two buildings are making the experience as attractive as possible in
order to overcome the psychological barrier of moving from one building to another.
Construction crews are toiling to bring the $275 million expansion and $15 million connector online by the end of the year.
