The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles says 11 new specialty license plates becoming available next year will promote causes
including organ donation and bicycle-safety education.
The BMV announced the new plates Tuesday. It said it also will institute a uniform design for specialty plates next year.
All specialty plates will be printed on a white background with the sponsor's logo or artwork and a tag line across the
bottom.
The agency said Indiana drivers last year purchased more than 400,000 specialty plates, generating more than $10 million
for sponsoring groups. The plates cost $40, with $25 going to the sponsors.
Other new plates next year will promote recreation trails and greenways, diabetes research, hunter safety and spaying and
neutering of pets.
