The Indiana Department of Natural Resources announced Wednesday that the state's Natural Resources Commission has authorized
the creation of the Ten O'Clock Line Nature Preserve.
State director of nature preserves John Bacone says the preserve will save one of the largest unfragmented forests remaining
in Indiana. The site includes upland and floodplain forest that provides habitat for cerulean warblers, broad-winged hawks,
timber rattlesnakes and other species.
Nature preserve status means the land will remain free of development such as picnic shelters or parking lots.
