Susan Heitzman of North Vernon will face freshman Republican Rep. Luke Messer this fall.
Heitzman finished a surprising second in the Democratic primary two years ago. On Tuesday, she defeated attorney Lane Siekman of Rising Sun and Fayette County business owner Corrine Westerfield. Heitzman didn't file reports indicating she raised any campaign money.
Messer was unopposed in the Republican primary. He easily won election two years ago when Mike Pence vacated the seat to run for governor.
