Purdue sees slight growth in fall enrollment

Purdue University says its fall semester enrollment is up slightly both statewide and at its main campus in West Lafayette.

Purdue's enrollment figures show that it has 74,759 students at its five campuses and various technology program sites around Indiana. That is an increase of about one-half percent from last year's 74,319 students.

The West Lafayette campus enrollment is 39,726, which is 29 more than last year.

Purdue said the average SAT score of this year's freshmen at the main campus was up nine points, to 1,717.

Indiana University reported this week setting a record with 109,445 students enrolled at its eight campuses.
