What lack of judgement does it require for someone, in this case a United States citizen, to know to keep his/her mouth shut about “local” politics when in a country not their own? I understand the desire to stand for freedom and civil rights, but I also understand the desire to avoid repercussions that may be severe when in a foreign country by voicing an opinion that could be either misunderstood, taken out of context or not in the interests of the government entity that is allowing you to be there. Just be smart about it.
An American citizen encouraged pro-Democracy efforts? How dare he!
I’m disappointed that the NBA so quickly capitulates to China.
According to South Park “Like the NBA, we welcome the Chinese censors into our homes and into our hearts. We too love money more than freedom and democracy.”
Everyone should watch that South Park episode. We westerners should resist Chinese censors, Islamic blasphemy laws and all other limitations on our speech by tyrants using globalization to spread their sick dictatorial values.
