Vincennes University announced its partnership Thursday with Fishers-based Eleven Fifty Academy to develop new talent in the cybersecurity field.
The not-for-profit coding school has classrooms in Fishers and Indianapolis. Credits earned at either location may be applied to a certificate of program completion in cybersecurity and networking or degrees in cybersecurity information technology from Vincennes University.
“There is a great need in the state of Indiana for more cybersecurity experts in our workforce,” Jaci Lederman, VU Information Technology Department chair and associate professor, said in a written statement. “We are excited to work with Eleven Fifty Academy to educate more Hoosiers in cybersecurity.”
According to a release, the 5-year-old Eleven Fifty Academy has consistently been named by Course Report as one of the best coding bootcamps in the nation, and has graduated 504 entry-level developers averaging a starting salary greater than $55,000 per year.
