I found Nate Feltman’s predictions interesting [Rokita wins AG and other 2020 political predictions, Jan. 10].

Here are my responses:

Bernie Sanders does win the Democratic nomination. It will be a progressive versus Donald Trump, who is his own political party. I agree that a Midwest Democrat will be the vice presidential candidate. Likely Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota. She will help take Wisconsin, which tipped the election to Trump in 2016. Sanders will beat Trump.

Indiana has only voted for a Democrat once since 1964, skipping both Carter in 1976 and Clinton in 1992 and 1996. Obama won Indiana on a liberal platform in 2008. Indiana always leans Republican, but Sanders is powerful because of his populist message. Who knows? Indiana is a tossup for 2020.

Trump’s three years is not the reason for this economy—eight years of Obama is.

Hill has a 50/50 chance to lose the attorney general’s office due to his groping. His replacement will be the Republican nominee for AG. It will not be Todd Rokita. Sen. Karen Tallian will be the Democratic nominee for attorney general and will win.

  1. What in fact happened.
Hill lost in his own state convention. Rokita was chosen after all.
Tallian lost in her state convention. Rokita beat Mayor Weinzapfel.

Biden beat Sanders with the help of Mayor Pete Buttigieg, who strategically withdrew at just the right moment. Biden rewarded him with Secretary of Transportation.

Biden beat Trump soundly, though not in Indiana.

The Supreme Court keeps pumping out decisions that are against the will of the American People.
    On abortion, Democrats prevail.
On student loan forgiveness, Democrats prevail.
On diversity in university admissions, Democrats prevail.

Once you add up all the people who Republican elitists offend, Democrats win elections.
