If you think Earth House Collective is all about such suspicious activities as art exhibits and yoga, you’re right, but there’s more—and it’s paying off for the downtown venue.

The collective at New York and East streets is also home to monthly meetings of Verge, a networking group for techies and entrepreneurs that includes Chris Baggott, CEO of Compendium Blogware and co-founder of ExactTarget.

Baggott is giving Earth House $15,000 for its fundraising campaign, and an anonymous donor has agreed to give an additional $15,000 if the community can match that amount by May 20.

“This city needs culture-creating places like Earth House to encourage creativity and innovation,” Baggott said.

Earth House will use Baggott’s money for arts, wellness and sustainable living programming. Earth House features all-ages concerts, films, theater performances, an art gallery, classes and a coffee shop.
