Tim Oliver

Fort Wayne-based STAR Bank has hired longtime banker Tim Oliver to serve as its Indianapolis market president.

Oliver, 51, joins STAR from BMO Harris, where he was commercial banking market executive in Indiana for about a year and a half. Before that, he spent 27 years at JPMorgan Chase, where he held a variety of positions in Indiana.

In his new position, Oliver will focus on growing STAR’s loan and deposit portfolio. He will primarily work out of STAR’s new Monument Circle office, which opened earlier this year in the building that also houses Emmis Communications Corp.’s headquarters. The bank relocated about 30 local employees and executives downtown from its Keystone at the Crossing office, leaving about 50 employees at the Keystone location.

Oliver, who has a bachelor’s in economics from Wabash College and an MBA from Butler University, succeeds former STAR market president Scott Bove, who was promoted to senior vice president and regional president.

STAR has $2.1 billion in assets and 43 branches, including 10 in the Indianapolis area. The bank takes its name from the first names of its four founders: Selah Wright, Thomas Marcuccilli, Arthur Hodson and Ralph Marcuccilli.
