A transition team has been picked to transfer control of Indiana University's troubled toxicology lab to the state.

Gov. Mitch Daniels has appointed Judge Linda Chezem, Dr. James Klaunig and Michael Medler to serve on the panel, which will shift control of the lab to the state.

The lab has been run out of Indiana University and has produced increasing numbers of incorrect test results over a period from roughly 2003 to 2008.

Indiana's General Assembly passed a law this year putting the lab under the state's control.

Chezem is a former appellate judge who has focused much of her work on impaired driving, toxicology and forensics. Klaunig was the state toxicologist from 1991 to 2003. Medler was an Indiana state police trooper from 1976 to 2005.
