Republican state Sen. Brent Steele of Bedford says the panel he chairs will meet Wednesday at the Statehouse in Indianapolis.
The ruling brought Indiana in line with most other states but was met with widespread disapproval across the state. Steele says the decision was "shocking" and means the Legislature must clarify self-defense and search-and-seizure laws.
The court ruled in a Vanderburgh County case in which a man questioned about a domestic violence call scuffled with an officer who tried to enter his house without a warrant and against his will. The man's attorney has asked the Indiana Supreme Court to rehear the case.
