That design needs MAJOR work. Too much blank wall at the street level and that mix of materials is bizarre.
No TIF. Please, make it stop. The city is strapped for funds as it is.
The increase in the tax base for the TIFF district are the funds allocated for a TIFF project. No increase in taxes, no TIFF funds.
When did the city become strapped for funds?
Well, that’ll be a blot on the city skyline. More prison block architecture is just what we need here. But at least the black exterior from a distance should excite the Star Wars crowd, as it resembles the silhouette of the Jawa’s sandcrawler.
Isn’t it about time for a revival of the City Beautiful Movement?
Funny and True! This wouldn’t even fly as a prison dormitory! Too bad Union 525 never learned what good architecture is, they must think its all arbitrary!
Why do most of the apartment buildings being built downtown have those little vinyl windows you’d expect to find in any bland suburban development? Is there a glass shortage I’m not aware of? There is nothing modern about this design at all.
Good point. Cheap on the windows!
Dreadful design. And, what ROI can the city expect for TIF. Will this result in long term meaningful job growth and investment?
