State reports increase of 295 cases, 19 deaths amid testing decline

Following are the latest COVID-19 numbers from the Indiana State Department of Health. The department updates its data daily based on information received through 11:59 p.m. the previous day. The health department reported an increase of 3,483 tests after averaging more than 7,150 tests daily over the previous week.

*New cases: 314

Total cumulative cases reported Tuesday: 48,626

Total cumulative cases reported Monday: 48,331

Increase in cumulative cases: 295

Increase in cases reported July 1-July 7: 3,032

Increase in cases reported June 24-30: 2,723

COVID-19 deaths

New deaths: 19

Total deaths: 2,524

COVID-19 testing

*New tests: 3,568

Total cumulative tests reported Tuesday: 530,075

Total cumulative tests reported Monday: 526,592

Increase in cumulative tests: 3,483

Percentage of total testing positive: 9.2%

Marion County cumulative cases: 11,723 (increase of 41)

Marion County new deaths: 5

Hamilton County cumulative cases: 1,596

Hendricks County cumulative cases: 1,414

Johnson County cumulative cases: 1,288

Madison County cumulative cases: 663

Boone County cumulative cases: 449

Hancock County cumulative cases: 449

Morgan County cumulative cases: 329

Shelby County cumulative cases: 430

Indiana intensive care unit usage

Available ICU beds: 41.4%

ICU beds in use by COVID-19 patients: 8.8%

Available ventilators: 83.7%

Ventilators in use for COVID-19: 2.6%

Indiana long-term-care facilities (updated July 6)

New cases: 239

Total cases: 5,581

New deaths: 54

Total deaths: 1,220

Facilities with at least one case: 299

Facilities with at least one death: 180

U.S. cases: 2,948,397

U.S. deaths: 130,430

Global cases: 11,662,574

Global deaths: 539,058

*New cases and tests are previously unreported cases and tests submitted to the Indiana State Health Department in the 24 hours through 11:59 p.m. the previous day. This category typically contains numerous duplicates—as many as 20% or more—that are later eliminated from the cumulative totals.
