The sale of the Glass Chimney, a fine-dining staple, and Deeter’s, its casual-dining co-tenant, is scheduled for 10 a.m. The long-time restaurants closed this summer.
The auction will be conducted at the Glass Chimney building at 12901 Old Meridian St., just south of Main Street in Carmel.
Indianapolis-based Key Auctioneers will auction the real estate and furnishings for both restaurants.
Austrian-born chef Dieter Puska bought the Glass Chimney, then a tea room, in 1976 and built it into a fine-dining institution. The restaurant was well-known for its white-linen tablecloths, servers in formal attire, and distinctive European cuisine. Puska retired in 2008.
The real estate consists of one building with two separate restaurant areas, one kitchen and parking for more than 50 vehicles.
