The Indianapolis-based company will roll out its HVAC-installation service in Cincinnati and Louisville in September. Defender Direct will partner with Carrier Corp.
Defender Direct says it’s the second-largest home-security installer in the country, trailing only ADT itself. No doubt, the company will capitalize on that national customer base to sell home heating and cooling services.
Defender Direct President Marcia Raab said she doesn’t see home heating and cooling as a brand-new business. Rather, it’s an opportunity to build on the company’s reputation.
“The thing we’re really good at is the customer experience in the home,” she said.
Heating and cooling is not Defender Direct’s first venture outside of security and satellite. It also sells water softener systems in some markets.
