The grants also can be used to cover the cost difference between buying an AFV and a conventional vehicle.
Infrastructure costs, such as fuel pumps, are not eligible for the money, which comes from a pot of federal dollars.
The OED is accepting applications until Sept. 30. While matching funds aren’t required, they earn applicants additional points in the grant-scoring process. The minimum grant is $40,000.
