You know what a savvy move for Steak & Shake would be? Serving quality food again.
this company has no idea how to fix what is wrong. But like Joe B said, quality food is a start, other #1 is customer service….it’s painful going into one. We used to go every few weeks, haven’t been in years and every time we try it again, we remember why we didn’t come back in the 1st place.
It’s bad when WTHR mentioned this on the 6am news this morning, and all 3 were in agreement that the customer service and wait times are horrible.
They think it’s a problem that they have customers who come in and expect to have sit-down table service and are on record saying they’re doing away with table staff.
Thing is, sure, people will come up to the counter and get their food. But it’s got to be good food! And it hasn’t been in a long time. People go to Freddy’s or Culver’s and the food is better… and Culver’s at least brings it to you. Steak & Shake is too cheap for even that.
Biglari only had one trick up his sleeve – be more efficient. But other than that, everything he’s ever tried has just run Steak & Shake into the ground.
SNS is looking for gimmicks while Culver’s and Freddys are expanding and looking for locations for new restaurants. Biglari’s only trick was cutting costs but trying to combine a fast casual restaurant with a budget burger joint doesn’t work.
No mask, no gloves, take the frigging food back!
Have no idea how a place that consistently struggles to deliver product through its drive through or to its tables, is going to excel at bringing it to your car on a tray.
