Riley Parr’s column [Don’t let Indy’s downtown slide backward, Forefront, Aug. 14] was right on point. The mayor must let the police protect and enforce and bring law and order back to the city. “No Loitering” signs should be everywhere in the downtown Mile Square so people who actually support and pour money into our restaurants, events and other businesses will be safe to walk the sidewalks and enjoy the beautiful city and canal as we did before all this craziness started. What a tragedy to see businesses close due to what has been allowed to happen to our city.
