Navistar notified the state Wednesday that it expected to eliminate 106 union positions and 27 non-union jobs in Fort Wayne by the end of December. The Journal Gazette of Fort Wayne said the cuts are scheduled to begin Dec. 2.
Navistar last year turned down efforts by city officials to keep the company's truck design center and other functions in Fort Wayne. The company plans to wind down operations in the city over the next two to three years, leading to the loss of 1,200 to 1,400 jobs.
