Gimme a break. She supposedly “hates communism” but is a member of the Republican party? Given Trump’s (and his party’s) love of dictators from Putin to Kim Jong-un, and his threat to withhold aid to the democratically elected leader of Ukraine unless it helped lie about Trump’s help from Russia getting elected, her professed hatred of communism is a laughable contradiction. Spartz equates her (apparently libertarian) dislike of regulation with anti-communism, but as any ninth grader could tell you regulation is not remotely the same as communism or socialism. How ignorant do people have to be to believe this nonsense? And how disappointing that the IBJ did not raise this issue or point out this contradiction with a candidate running for national office.

You are obviously one of the leftist socialist, liberal, progressives characterized by the likes of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and others in her clique in D.C. You don’t have an understanding for “regulation” either. Regulation is a means of CONTROL… Control is how the communists and socialists subdue their worker class citizens. The ignorance, Sir, is yours to bear. Representative Spartz, though I am not one of her constituents, deserves her citizenship in our country, she deserves her right to free speech, and she deserves her right to represent, even profoundly ignorant citizens such as yourself, the 5th District of Indiana.
I will refrain from using emotional triggers such as “Gimme a break”, “ninth grader”, “ignorant”, and “nonsense”, as such dialogue is not fact based but emotional opinion that ill serves constructive dialogue. I have met Victoria Spartz and listened first-hand to her life experience of living under communism, gaining U.S. citizenship, and working to achieve personal and professional goals within the free enterprise system the United States provides. She has experienced extremes of governance, from living under communist dictators to living in the United States which affords the “gold standard” of freedom and liberty.
As far as President Trump is concerned, media accounts across the board have recorded his actions to challenge communist leaders in China, Russia and North Korea, such as a tariff war with China, which has been well-documented by all media outlets. This has been a significant undertaking as previous administrations from both sides of the aisle have chosen a very different approach of appeasement and concession for decades, vs. confrontation and challenge, as the basis of diplomacy. This has earned President Trump scorn from the opposition Democrat Party, as well as some within his own Republican Party. It has been a steep, long hill to scale because of the decades of a much different diplomatic strategy.
Some voters make a distinction between “support” and “like”. They may not “like” President Trump because of his tweets and other unique personality characteristics they find unappealing. But they “support” him because in their judgement, the policies and actions he and his administration enact benefit all U.S. citizens by providing the most personal and economic opportunity and freedom to achieve their personal and economic dreams, regardless of race, creed, gender, age, or political affiliation … compared to all other national leaders of any party affiliation.
Victoria Spartz shares many of those same foundational Trump principles to govern by providing an environment where every citizen has the same opportunity to achieve and prosper, based on the government getting out of the way with its institutionalized systems that hand out favored status and special favors to special interest groups and individuals based on race and gender.
Personal experiences aside, her policy stances are awful. She hasn’t voted in favor of anything that helps the general public (against RDA, for bill that would have let landlords continue to be irresponsible, etc.) and authored legislation that would have benefited her and her family personally.
