Greenwood officials expect to auction off 17 vehicles, mostly old police cars that Police Chief Rick McQueary says are at least a decade old and haven't been on the road for the past few years.
McQueary tells the Daily Journal that the department stopped parking the squad cars outside banks in the southern Indianapolis suburb because it wasn't effective once people have had time to see that no one is in the cars.
The city is also selling 73 old stoplights that have been replaced with newer, more energy-efficient models.
