Indiana reports another 871 COVID-19 cases, 13 more deaths

The Indiana State Department of Health on Wednesday reported 871 new COVID-19 cases, the 11th time in the past 14 days that cases have exceeded 800.

The state also reported the testing of 9,085 more individuals, the seventh time in eight days that testing has exceeded 9,000. The state’s cumulative positivity rate for unique individuals remained at 8.8%.

The department also reported 13 more deaths from COVID-19, bringing the cumulative total during the pandemic to 3,106.

Following are the latest COVID-19 numbers from the Indiana State Department of Health. The department updates its data daily based on information received through 11:59 p.m. the previous day.

Total cumulative cases reported Tuesday: 94,891

Increase in cumulative cases: 859

Available ICU beds: 40%

ICU beds in use by COVID-19 patients: 10.5%

U.S. cases: 6,082,260

U.S. deaths: 184,910

Global cases: 25,809,515

Global deaths: 858,295

*New cases, deaths and tests are previously unreported cases, deaths and tests submitted to the Indiana State Health Department in the 24 hours through 11:59 p.m. the previous day. The cases and testing categories typically contain numerous duplicates—as many as 20% or more—that are later eliminated from the cumulative totals.

  1. How do we know these are actual numbers? The hospitals get paid for every person tested and diagnosed. How do we know they weren’t tested and/or diagnosed with a different ailment but listed is as Covid to get the money?

    1. We don’t know – the numbers are all over the road. Plus, today MD’s interviewed on a Sports Call in Show said Positive tests for 20 year old Football players doesn’t mean they are sick.
