Indiana Treasurer Richard Mourdock's campaign said Thursday that it closed the last federal reporting period with $300,000 in the bank. Mourdock's haul for the quarter is roughly half of what Lugar pulled down. Lugar's campaign said Wednesday it raised $840,000 in the same period and had $3.8 million in the bank.
Mourdock lent his campaign $100,000, in the last quarter inflating his haul significantly. He also secured endorsements from two national conservative groups that may spend heavily in the state.
The federal fundraising cycle ended at the end of last month but candidates have until Oct. 15 to report how much they raised.
