And the museum will not appoint an interim CEO after Anderson departs in January for Dallas. Instead, the board of governors will leave day-to-day operations in the hands of a nine-member senior management team, the board announced in a memo to employees that was also released to news media.
Chief Financial Officer Jennifer Bartenbach will act as administrator, and as corporate secretary, she will attend board meetings and sign documents.
Other members of the team are Chief Operating Officer Nick Cameron, Chief Development Officer Cynthia Rallis, Contemporary Art Department Chairwoman Lisa Freiman and Kathryn Haigh, deputy director for collections and exhibitions.
The search committee is led by venture capitalist Tom Hiatt, secretary of the board.
Anderson, the Melvin and Bren Simon director and CEO, steps down Dec. 31.
