Not-for-profit manufacturer partners with disabled Marine

Crossroads Industrial Services will partner with a service-disabled veteran to win new business from defense contractors.

Crossroads, which is a division of the not-for-profit Easter Seals Crossroads, has formed a joint venture with a company started by Bret McCauley, a Kokomo native who was twice awarded the Purple Heart for service in Iraq.

Any work that McCauley’s firm, American Integrated Manufacturing, wins from defense contractors will be performed at Crossroads’ east-side facility by disabled veterans that Crossroads would hire to do the work.

McCauley started his firm with David Hudson, who has worked in marketing with General Motors Corp., Delphi and Emerson Electric.

McCauley was critically wounded during Operation Iraqi Freedom in Falluja in 2004.
