The House Employment, Labor and Pensions Committee was set to meet Tuesday to vote on right-to-work legislation. The same committee voted last year along party lines to approve the bill.
If eventually signed into law, the proposal would make Indiana the first state in more than a decade to ban contracts that require workers to pay union fees for representation.
House Democrats cleared the way for Tuesday's vote when they returned to the chamber Monday.
Republican House Speaker Brian Bosma says the bill could advance to the Senate as early as Friday.
