According to the [May 18] article, Barney Levengood, the executive director of the CIB for the past 18 years, states he hadn’t realized the full extent of the CIB’s budget troubles when he approved raises for the CIB staff. Are you kidding me?
How in the world can you be executive director of anything and not be aware of the finances of your organization? I can’t figure out what’s more astonishing—that he was seemingly oblivious to them bleeding red ink or the fact he gave the head of Lucas Oil Stadium a 36-percent pay raise.
The more this is slowly being brought to light, the more overwhelming the stench is getting. Thirty years of back-room dealings, conflict-of-interest lobbying efforts, disingenuous, if not outright fraudulent stories sold to the public–it’s all starting to unravel. I’m not sure when the revolution is going to start, but I can’t wait to watch. That’s one event I will pay good money to see.
