Glad that a local guy can help fill the hole left in the market by the Biglari-led implosion of Steak & Shake.
You talking about BigLiar? (he just spells his name wrong!)
We always get tenderloins. They’re not always as consistent (meaning management & training shortcomings) as those from Penguin Point but still tasty.
.
We’ve been fans of Culver’s since an article appeared many years ago in the Saturday Tempo section of the Chicago Tribune told us there was one in Plainfield (In) and we made the trek from Fishers. They have burgers?
There are few things that bring together “both sides” in the IBJ comment section like the shared disregard for the restaurant acumen of Sardar Biglari.
Amen to that. We don’t care about the politics of the guy who runs a Hoosier institution into the ground.
BigLiar…hahaha. Perfect!
Biglari drove Steak N Shake into the ground. I hope he never gains more control of Cracker Barrel. Ruining one chain is enough.
So happy to hear about this. We met the founders of Culver’s, Ruth and George Culver, the parents of Craig Culver mentioned in your article, in Florida a few decades ago and became fast friends with them, which lasted for years until they passed. They started out by managing a supper club in Baraboo, Wisconsin and were two of the most wonderful, fun, huge-hearted people you would ever want to know. It has been no surprise that the culture they established remains to this day.
Love Culver’s, great food and genuinely nice workers. It’s rare to find a culture of nice in fast food these days. At other places some people are nice, many are not, but Culvers seems to be different. I hope they stay that way. Regarding Steak and Shake, I must say that in spite of the owner I still go through the drive through to get burgers and they are as good as ever. I just keep wondering how long they can continue with $4.00 double burger and fries though. Great value, always hot and I have come to like it over five guys. Also strange how Wendy’s used to be in the conversation, but isn’t anymore. I haven’t been there in years. Nice to talk about something other than politics!
Freddy’s is also very good – give them a shot as well.
I had not heard of Freddy’s, but see them on the map and will give them a shot.
Not personally a big fan of Culver’s, but it’s worlds better than steak and shake. To be fair, steak and shake hasn’t been good since what, the 80s? Long before Biglari finished them off.
I genuinely miss Culver’s now that I live in California. I’ll take it over In N Out any day. Please open some locations here!
Love the openness of the Noblesville Culver’s, it is a relaxing place to enjoy a tasty meal. Please don’t use the Grand Park model’s chopped up little spaces in other new stores.
Congrats, Mr. Meyer. I can say that the Olio Rd. location is always overflowing with business when I drive past.
I went to the E. 96th St location on Saturday evening and I was very impressed with the high level of COVID protection efforts they have put in place.
Soon we will be able enjoy the new Culvers that will be built at Glendale at 62nd & Keystone.
Culvers food is always a stop I look forward to making.
The success is a direct result of paying attention to details and treating customers and employees with respect.
Thank you for investing in the Indianapolis Metro area.
