Maurer column hit the mark again

Thanks to Mickey Maurer, again, for his voice of reason in the Indiana wilderness. His [Feb. 6] column, along with the March 19 “Purple Hat” column, should be required reading for all.

There are two components that need to be expanded upon in these columns that are often overlooked (or conveniently ignored).

1. Most Christians are not social conservatives.

2. Most conservatives are not social conservatives, they are fiscal conservatives who want the Republican Party to focus upon the economy.

As a Christian and a fiscal conservative, I have more patience with liberals than social conservatives.
