Indiana reports 925 new COVID-19 cases, six more deaths

The Indiana State Department of Health on Saturday reported 925 new cases of COVID-19. Daily cases have been below 1,000 for 14 straight days and for 22 of the past 23 days.

The state also reported six new deaths due to the coronavirus, the lowest mark since March 8.

The department said 6,689 new individuals were tested Friday.

Statewide hospitalizations due to COVID-19 dipped from 595 on Thursday to 577 on Friday, the lowest mark since the early weeks of the pandemic. The high mark was 3,460, set on Nov. 30.

The state said more than 935,000 Hoosiers had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Saturday at 5 a.m. More than 1.41 million had received the first dose of a two-dose vaccination.

Following are the latest COVID-19 numbers from the Indiana State Department of Health. The department updates its data daily based on information received through 11:59 p.m. the previous day.

Seven-day positivity rate all tests: 3.2%**

** The health department reports the 7-day positivity rates with a six-day lag to allow time for more comprehensive results.

First dose administered: 1,418,294 (daily increase of 29,375)

Fully vaccinated: 935,381 (daily increase of 19,721)

*New cases, deaths and tests are previously unreported cases, deaths and tests submitted to the Indiana State Health Department in the 24 hours through 11:59 p.m. the previous day. The cases and testing categories typically contain numerous duplicates—as many as 20% or more—that are later eliminated from the cumulative totals.
