A California-based beverage production company will build a $103 million production facility and Midwest headquarters in Columbus, creating 111 jobs by 2025.

Ninth Avenue Foods is a family-owned company that specializes in extended shelf-life dairy and dairy alternative products. Its 260,000-square-foot facility in Columbus will be the company’s first expansion outside its home state.

The company today announced that the facility will produce dairy and plant-based beverages and will help give it broader reach across the country. The facility, with seven filling lines, also will allow for the production of some products that do not require refrigeration.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. will provide up to $1.1 million in tax credits if the company meets its job creation goal. The IEDC also will provide $150,000 to help pay for local infrastructure improvements needed to support the plant.

In March 2022, the company expects to begin hiring warehouse, production, maintenance  and administrative workers as well as instrument control and quality technicians.
