As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowWXIN-TV Channel 59 said on Tuesday that it will add an hour-long newscast at 6 p.m. weekdays beginning Sept. 10.
With the additional five hours of news per week, Fox 59 plans to add six employees at the television station, which will produce 60 hours of news programming each week.
“Fox59’s top priority is continuing to offer the most news and information, at a variety of times that are convenient to our viewers,” said Larry Delia, the station’s vice president and general manager, in a prepared statement. “There is no other station more committed to serving central Indiana.”
Since 2009, Fox59 has added half-hour newscasts at 4 a.m. and 4:30 a.m., in addition to hour-long newscasts at 9 a.m., 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays. The station also added four hours of morning news on both Saturdays and Sundays.
