Skillman and a 37-member delegation left Monday and will visit Indiana's sister province, Zhejiang, during the trip that concludes Sunday.
This is Skillman's second economic development mission to China and her sixth international trade mission overall since taking office in 2004. She also has visited Central America, Taiwan, Vietnam, Mexico and Japan.
China is Indiana's second-largest Asian trading partner. Indiana exports to China grew by more than 550 percent between 2000 and 2010.
Skillman is being joined by mayors, business and agricultural leaders. The trip is being paid for with private donations.
