The company says the site of the expansion has yet to be determined, but it expects the project to add more than 150 jobs to its work force.
Berry, which ranked first on IBJ’s 2008 list of the largest private companies in Indiana, employs about 12,600 at 55 facilities in North America and Europe. It has more than 1,200 workers in Evansville.
Revenue reached $3.4 billion in 2007, the company told IBJ.
Berry says it is expanding because of increased customer demand for plastic thermoformed products, including drinking cups.
The company started in 1967 in Evansville as Imperial Plastics and changed its name to Berry in 1983.
