The New Port Richey, Fla.-based company said in a notice posted Monday on the Indiana Department of Workforce Development website that it will provide more details to the state prior to the closing.
Manitowoc Foodservice expects to shut down operations by April 30.
The manufacturer is consolidating work done at the plant into a factory in Cleveland.
The company said it hopes to work with the state to provide any support and transition services that may be available to the affected employees.
A division of The Manitowoc Co. Inc. in Manitowoc, Wis., the company manufactures food and beverage equipment for the global foodservice market. The Fort Wayne plant primarily makes ovens.
