Hoosier begins reign as Miss America-WEB ONLY

The newly crowned Miss America says she can’t wait to get started in her new job as a spokeswoman for the Children’s Miracle Network and other causes. Seymour’s own Katie Stam, 22, won the crown Saturday night. She’s the first Hoosier to win the title in the 88-year history of the pageant. Stam is a University of Indianapolis student majoring in communications. She has her sights set on getting into the broadcasting business, and says her dream is to someday host “The Today Show.”
