The Indiana State Department of Health on Tuesday reported 59 more COVID-19 deaths in the state, raising the total to 16,414.

The department reported 1,996 more cases of COVID-19, increasing the pandemic total to 1,037,109.

Statewide hospitalizations due to COVID-19 increased from 1,226 on Sunday to 1,261 on Monday. COVID patients occupy 15.2% of Indiana’s intensive care unit beds.

More than 3.38 million Hoosiers had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Tuesday at 5 a.m. after a daily increase of more than 1,200. More than 503,000 Hoosiers have already gotten vaccine boosters.

The health department said 59.7% of Indiana residents 18 and older are now fully vaccinated.
