Regal Beloit Corp. said it plans to move operations from multiple Midwestern warehouses into a new, 376,000-square-foot warehouse in Browning Investments' and Duke Realty Corp.'s AllPoints Midwest industrial park.
Publicly traded Regal, which makes electric motors, generators, gear drives and electrical controls, plans to invest $8.1 million to buy distribution machinery, software and IT equipment for the new facility, which launched operations this month.
Regal already has 350 workers spread between Plainfield and Fort Wayne facilities. It recently begin hiring for the new positions in distribution, logistics, customer service and quality control.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered Regal up to $260,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $8,450 in training grants based on the company's job-creation plans. Plainfield will consider additional property tax abatement
