Carmel Clay proposes budget cuts-WEB ONLY

The Carmel Clay School District is looking for ways to trim millions of dollars from next year’s budget. Administrators revealed a plan for across-the-board cuts totaling $1.85 million. The plan would mean layoffs for a number of teachers, including several in the foreign languages. Other instructors would be paid more to teach an extra class period. The school board will make its final decision on the proposed cuts Feb. 23.
