The developer of insurance software notified the Indiana Department of Workforce Development on Tuesday that it will begin the layoffs at its office on the city's northwest side Jan. 31.
The company said it plans to restructure Indianapolis operations and move some business functions to the company’s East Lansing, Mich., and Bothell, Wash., locations. Local employees losing their jobs include software engineers, product representatives and support staff.
The office, located at 7835 Woodland Drive, will remain open with about 40 employees.
Vertafore arrived in Indianapolis in August 2011 through its acquisition of Kaplan Compliance Solutions, a locally based insurance and securities software firm.
The company also has offices in Moorpark, Calif.; Boulder, Colo.; Windsor, Conn.; Conyers, Ga.; and Pulaski, Tenn., according to its website.
